The Story of Bigibila

From left to right: Helen Fernando, Liana Pitt, and Angela Graham. Helen, Liana’s grandmother, inspired the name and values of Bigibila, passing down the wisdom of the echidna to guide resilience, strength, and cultural integrity. Angela Graham, Liana’s mother, continues this legacy, nurturing family, culture, and community.

Bigibila was born from lived experience, culture, and resilience. Founded by Liana Pitt, a proud Gamilaraay woman, Bigibila draws its name from her grandmother’s totem - the echidna.

Passed down through her grandmother, Bigibila carries deep cultural meaning, symbolising quiet strength, adaptability, and protection. These values continue to guide Liana’s work and leadership.

100% Aboriginal-owned. Supply Nation certified. Guided by culture, creating impact.

Bigibila Consultancy Firm is a 100% Aboriginal-owned consultancy and a proud Supply Nation Registered Supplier, supporting government, corporate, and community organisations to grow in ways that are culturally informed, ethical, and sustainable.

After more than a decade working across government, justice, and community sectors, Liana saw firsthand how cultural knowledge was often treated as an afterthought rather than a foundation.

Bigibila was created to change that - embedding Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing into strategy, governance, and business transformation. Like the echidna, Bigibila works with intention rather than noise -building strong foundations, adapting to complex environments, and protecting cultural integrity.

Bigibila is more than a consultancy; it is a legacy-inspired approach to business that aligns success with respect, responsibility, and long-term impact.
